The Lodge

The Lodge at Drakensberg Mountain Retreat consists of nine en-suite rooms offering double, triple and family-sized accommodation. Our rates vary per room based on superior and standard room type status, include breakfast and dinner, and offer guests various layout and comfort levels.

The Lodge, with numerous lounges and fireplaces, is comfortably furnished and blends rustic charm with old-fashioned elegance. These lounges, along with the dining room, enclosed verandah, indoor swimming pool, bar area with billiard table, kids play room, library room and conservatory gardens provide a variety of inspired sitting areas and generous spaces. In addition, guests can enjoy the 100km-long panoramic view of the Central and Northern Berg incorporating both the Amphitheatre and Royal Natal National Park, one of the very best views of the Drakensberg!

The beautifully appointed bedrooms are all unique in their own way and offer guests a varying amount of comfort and luxury. All are fitted with a comfortable queen-sized bed, and depending on the choice of room, additional single beds for the comfort of the whole family. The Lodge has rooms available on the ground floor and the first floor up a wooden staircase. With so much space and expansive lawns, our establishment is pet friendly, and welcomes small dogs to join their owners in our ground floor rooms which have access into fenced-in conservatory gardens.

Delicious home-cooked meals prepared with care and served by our friendly staff, are an important part of one's stay at Drakensberg Mountain Retreat. Our three-course set menu candlelit dinners are especially loved by our guests. Guests can expect welcoming staff, a peaceful and relaxing stay in the mountains surrounded by nature, and wild horses, and place of comfort and escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
